TWO murders, one in Morvant and the other in St Augustine, occurred yesterday afternoon taking the murder toll for the year to date to 11.
The figure at the same time last year was 16.
The first incident occurred in Morvant around 2 p.m., when a 35-year-old man was stabbed to death by an 18-year-old male during an argument.
Details remained sketchy up to last night but both men were said to be related and the incident occurred during a family lime.
The man was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The second murder occurred at 3 p.m. in St Augustine.
Police said the victim, Nigel John, 33, and a close male relative got into a heated argument over $40 at John’s home, at Cayenne Road, St Augustine, where John was stabbed by the other man.
John was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mount Hope, where he died while undergoing treatment.
