SKELETAL remains believed to be human were discovered in bushes at Debe on Thursday, three kilometres from the spot where hairdresser Ria Sookdeo was abducted five months ago.
Police received information of the find, and at around 4.35 p.m. went to an area near LP 200 at M2 Ring Road.
Supt Gaffar, Insp Gajadhar, Sgts Morrison and Cuffie and other officers of the Homicide Region III and San Fernando CID observed the remains some 20 feet away from the road.
Police said they found what appeared to be a human skull and bones among the shrubbery. There was no clothing.
Police do not believe the bones are linked to the abduction of Sookdeo who was snatched out of her vehicle on September 22, shortly after dropping off her two children at the Picton Presbyterian Primary School. She was never found.
A district medical officer examined the remains and ordered it removed to the Forensic Sciences Centre.
PC Gervais is investigating the case.
