Driver helped by good Samaritans, dies at hospital

...crash into highway utility pole

The aftermath of the crash on the Solomon Hochoy Highway that claimed the life of Andy Bridgemohan.


A 32-year old New Grant man whose car crashed into an electricity pole on the highway on Sunday died hours later at hospital.

Andy Bridgemohan, of Sixth Company, suffered extensive injuries.

Police were told  that at around 4.24 p.m. Bridgemoham was headed south along the Solomon Hochoy Highway when in the vicinity of the Gasparillo flyover when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with the pole.

Police said the vehicle broke apart on impact.

Motorists stopped and assisted Bridgemohan and contacted police and ambulance services.

Officers of the Highway Patrol South and St Margaret's Police Station responded.

Bridgemohan was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy is expected to be done at the San Fernando mortuary this week.
