Children’s Authority hands in report*

...after displaced teen found living at home of director

‘treating child directly’: Safiya Noel

The Ministry of Gender and Child Affairs in the Office of the Prime Minister yesterday received a report from the Children’s Authority on the circumstances under which a 15-year-old ward of the State came to be living in the private residence of the authority’s director, Safiya Noel.
The report was requisitioned by the ministry following an exclusive Express story last Thursday, detailing how the teen boy was originally committed by the court to St Michael’s School for Boys until he turned 18. After several placements in foster care, the child was placed by the authority in its Children Support Centre.
