Good choice for the job*

THE appointment of Orville London as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom gives Trinidad and Tobago experience and dignified representation at the Court of St James.
Over the course of his 16-year tenure as chief secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, Mr London has carried himself with a certain relaxed aplomb, displayed political tactfulness and shown himself to be a man at ease with the power of his office. As chief secretary, he has had extensive experience in representing Tobago in talks with the IMF, the IDB, the UNDP and the CDB among the host of multilateral agencies. Add to that his involvement in tourism marketing campaigns involving British Airways, Condor, and Thomas Cook and one can see the Prime Minister’s logic in selecting Mr London for this assignment in London.
