Coast Guard officers have located the body.

POLICE and Coast Guard officers responded on Monday to the discovery of a body floating in the Gulf of Paria.

The body was spotted at around 11 a.m. and images and videos of the corpse quickly circulated on social media.

Public relations officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard Sherron Manswell said that a vessel was dispatched to the area.

The body, that of a man, was nude. There were injuries to the head. The identity is unknown.

On Wednesday the body of woman police constable Nyasha Joseph, who had been missing for almost a week, was discovered floating near there.

Two people have since been charged with Joseph's murder and are expected to appear in the Port of Spain Magistrates' Court on Monday.
