‘Que’ to perform at Tobago Jazz Experience

SOOTHING STYLE: Quacy “Que” Cooper in a screen capture from the video for “Sweet Island”.

Singer, songwriter and Karaoke DJ Quacy “Que” Cooper is billed to perform at the 2017 Tobago Jazz Experience on tomorrow and Wednesday respectively. This artiste is no stranger to the festival, as he was featured at the Jazz Festival in 2014.

Tomorrow, “Que” will be featured at Jazz in the East at Speyside Recreational Grounds from 6 p.m. He will be sharing the stage with international reggae band Morgan Heritage, and other artistes such as Oscar B and Vibes, Guardah Knight, Adanna, Kay Alleyne, Clifton Yeates, Xavier Edwards, Stephanie Joseph and Janelle Winchester.

Wednesday the Jazz Experience presents NLCB jazz on the Waterfront at Scarborough Esplanade from 6 p.m. Patrons can listen to “Que” in the soothing “New Orleans style” repertoire of primarily unplugged solo, duet and band acts with a variety of vendors supplying an abundance of options in the areas of food, drinks and crafts. “Que” will be crooning some of your favourite hits as well as some of his own creations.

Quacy “Que” Cooper hails from the town of Fyzabad and began to make his mark in the entertainment world from the age of 12 singing with his church choir. His musical influences include Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Tevin Campbell, Machel Montano and Destra Garcia. His main motivation is his mother Laura Cooper and is also his role model. “Que” strongly believes that representing yourself as a brand of excellence is integral to be a successful human being, and humility is his strongest trait.

Diligently following his passion, “Que”, Ancil Harris, Shurland Sawh & Justin Moore, under the direction of Kareem Browne, Avis and Myrone Bruce landed a spot in the 2007 Groovy Soca Monarch Competition.

This was a major milestone for him as an artiste and following this were three new releases “Words Don't Do Justice”, “I Stand” and “True Love” written by “Que” himself. His true style, a blend of Soca and Rhythm & Blues led him to record his single “Sweet Island” in 2008, and in 2009 became a hit throughout the Kaiso Caravan—East Zone Calypso Tents and others where he did live performances. The music video was released in 2010.

This multi-talented entertainer has also acted on Synergy TV series All About Us, executed artiste management at Cover page and soon became his own entrepreneur and established Business on the move, QM Karaoke Enterprises. This start-up established in 2016 offers modern day and cutting edge entertainment services for events.

The products and services are hosting, deejay and live entertainment.

The business model follows that of the start-up concept where two young minds with a passion for entertainment and music came together to create a service that would encompass the “You sing, you shine, and you're the star!!” feel for all patrons regardless of age, gender, religion; people from all walks of life having fun and making beautiful music together.

This musical genius has planned to reenter the recording studio later this year.

We will hear much more expansion from “Que” and QM Karaoke Enterprises too.
