First, I have no objection to paying property tax.
I'd like to find out if or how those who have built properties and even business throughout the length and breath of Trinidad and Tobago illegally (squatters) would be subject to property tax payments.
As usual, it seems to me ordinary citizens who live by the laws of the land are the ones bearing the burden of adjustments, while many others continue to literally live “free”.
Squatters get land free, some maxi-taxi drivers and individual business owners pay no income taxes, and now tonnes of people may not have to pay property tax.
We the struggling, “ordinary citizens” are overwhelmed.
