Court transcript, evidence of former magistrate-now judge differ

Avason Quinlan-Williams

The decision of the Judicial and Legal Service Commission (JLSC) to exonerate former magistrate and newly appointed High Court judge Avason Quinlan-Williams of misconduct charges appears to contradict evidence gathered during the Anthony Carmona one-man fact-finding tribunal.

Court transcripts and other official documents obtained by the Sunday Express show Anthony Wilson and Robert Spencer, charged separately with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, informed Quinlan-Williams they had already appeared before another magistrate on the morning of June 29, 2009.

Quinlan-Williams was charged by the JLSC with misconduct in bringing the judicial and legal service into disrepute and misconduct in bringing the administration of justice into disrepute.
