WAS it murder or suicide?
Police are uncertain whether a woman found dead with a plastic bag over her head in her home on Thursday was killed or killed herself.
The body of Fewhroni Mohan, 44, was discovered by her husband, Dave Rampersad.
Rampersad, 43, a grass cutter, told police he found his wife's body at around 10.30 a.m. when he returned home from work.
He entered the house at Chrysostom Trace in Mafeking and found her on their bed, unresponsive.
Police and paramedics were contacted but Mohan could not be revived.
A district medical officer pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police said there were no signs of a struggle in the house.
Police said Mohan was found lying on the bed with her hands at her sides.
Responding were Ag Supt Phillip, Insp Mahabir, Cpl Ramsahai and PC Gillard and others.
Rampersad told officers that he and his wife had been having marital problems.
He said they had been in counselling for some time, and attended a session up until yesterday.
An autopsy is expected to be performed on Friday to determine the cause of death.
