Time for PAEC to flex muscle*

THE idea that officials of publicly-funded State enterprises can choose to ignore a summons from the Parliamentary Accounts and Enterprises Committee (PAEC) is not to be tolerated.
The public has had more than enough of public officials who feel free to thumb their noses at Parliament and get away with it.
The time has come for the PAEC to stop threatening and enforce its full power, if only to demonstrate that it will not allow such disrespect for the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
The recent no-show by Annesa Rahim, former corporate secretary and now senior legal officer of the bedevilled Education Facilities Company Ltd (EFCL) should not be allowed to pass without sanction.
