In my opinion, one of the main reasons for the rampant crime and other social issues in our society is absentee fathers.
Without a father there to guide a young boy towards manhood, there is great risk of that child becoming a menace to society. Especially if there are no positive men to step in and help groom him.
This leaves open the opportunity for some evil subhuman to take charge and turn the young man bad.
My own father abandoned me when I was 13 years old and were it not for several men who extended fatherly care towards me, my life would have probably gone in a completely different direction, instead of bringing me to this place today.
The first surrogate father I’ll mention is Gregory Pascall, the father of my best friend in Second Year at primary school, Dean Pascall and his younger brother, Marty.
Today, after over 40 years, the three of us refer to each other as brothers and we truly do cherish each other as such.
Even before my own father abandoned me, Gregory was there being a second dad of sorts to me. He disciplined me as he did his own sons and made sure I was growing up as a young man should.
