Chaguaramas needs a facelift*

Upon a recent and most anticipated visit to Chaguaramas, I was shocked and saddened to witness the evident neglect and decline of one of our nation’s favourite recreational parks.
Grass grows unchecked on either side of the roadway, while the limbs of the bordering trees threaten to come down in a tangle of vines, telephone, cable and high tension wires on unsuspecting motorists, cyclists, and those who run along the Western Main Road.
The Boardwalk features non-working toilets; thank goodness I am neither aged nor convalesced as the closest available restroom requires a staggering trek to the Chaguaramas Police Post, which is not much of a police post to begin with.
