Mom killed in hit-and-run on PBR*


A MOTHER of three is dead following a hit and run accident along the Priority Bus Route (PBR) in Arouca on Saturday night.
According to police reports, at about 7 p.m., Oswald Ayers, 67, and his 63-year-old wife Julia Ayers, had just exited a maxi-taxi on the Priority Bus Route in the vicinity of the Bon Air Secondary School, and were attempting to cross the road.
A vehicle speeding along the bus route hit Julia Ayers, throwing her several feet into the air.
The woman landed violently on the ground some distance away, and succumbed to the injuries she sustained.
The driver of the vehicle, which eye-witnesses described as a silver AD Wagon, did not stop to render assistance.
As a result police are searching for the individual.
This incident pushed the number of road deaths recorded for the year to 59.
