TWO families, including four children, lost their homes in a fire on Saturday.
Luckily, none of the 12 persons who lived in the wooden and concrete structures at Union Park East, Marabella, were injured.
Cuthbert Collymore, 45, said he was at home around 3.45 p.m. when he smelt smoke. He said his two sons, ages nine and seven, and their ten-year-old cousin were at the front of the house. Another relative was in a bedroom. Collymore’s wife and brother who were also occupants, were not at home.
Collymore said when he went into his room he realised one of the walls was on fire and he immediately raised an alarm. “Everyone ran outside and I started to look for water but water was gone in the pipe. We couldn’t do anything.”
