THE body of a three-year-old boy who is suspected to have drowned at Chaguaramas was discovered this morning.
Little Atiba Gorking is believed to have wandered away from adult supervision and went into the water.
A police report said that at around 5 p.m. the child's mother and father were at William's Bay, Chaguaramas, bathing.
Police were told that the mother left the beach to go with another child to a washroom, leaving little Atiba in the care of another adult.
However, the child disappeared within minutes.
The child's relatives and friends combed the beach but he could not be found.
A report was made to officers of the Western Police Division.
The body was found washed ashore at around 6.30 a.m.
A district medical officer examined the body and ordered it removed for an autopsy today.
For the year, 21 people have drowned, according to an Express tally.
