Shania Abdool seizes spotlight at SSCL awards*

Shania Abdool took centre stage when she was named the FLOW Cricketer of the year during the FLOW Secondary Schools Cricket League awards ceremony at the Chaguanas Borough Corporation Auditorium, earlier this month.
Abdool scored 165 runs for Barrackpore East Secondary. Also nominated for the top cricketer award was Abdool’s Barrackpore teammate Shalini Samaroo, who was outstanding with the ball, grabbing 12 wickets.
Holy Name Convent, who were runners-up to Barrackpore West Secondary in the National Girls’ Under-16 competition, also had a player nominated for the top award in Jesse Ferdinand, who scored 102 runs and also grabbed four wickets.
