Grande Exposed*

Grande Exposed A diverse community, in its people and in nature

Owners of Green Pastures Melissa Sam, Anderson Sam and Arthur Sam

One of Sangre Grande’s best kept secrets is blown! Sangre Grande is a unique town with a vibrant history, but there are still some little nooks and crannies that you never knew existed, like the 25 acre former cocoa estatze, located on the Bedes Buxo Rd, Little Cora in Cunaripo.
After cocoa and coffee dwindled on his estate in the late 70s, Arthur Sam successfully diversified his estate into a thriving poultry and citrus business. But things changed three years ago -- after his wife passed away, Sam, known fondly as Farmer Sam, decided to diversify his estate into a recreational nature retreat he calls Green Pastures.
Considering the small acreage there is an impressive diversity of nature on this estate. Untouched natural places like this one are more and more important, and Farmer Sam recognised the importance of such a natural environment when he set out to create the recreational family-run estate for nature lovers, eco tourists and those wanting to take some time away from their harried lifestyles.
