St George's pupil gives back to school in honour of his science teacher...

THE guidance of a Trinidadian teacher inspired one man to chase his dreams.

Decades later, the pupil- turned-doctor has given back to his school in honour of “Sir”.

Suresh Persad, 72, attended St George's College in Barataria in the 1960s.

His science teacher, Solomon Tancoo, had a profound impact on his life, and in Tancoo's honour, Persad donated $25,000 to his alma mater towards the school's science lab.

Persad is an obstetrician/gynaecologist in Georgia, United States.
