A NEW YORK hospital employee with Trinidad roots was bludgeoned to death yesterday by the hammer-wielding brother of one of her friends at a house in Long Island.
Janel Simpson, 29, was unmarried.
Her mother, Wendy Simpson, was born in Trinidad and moved to New York, USA, in 1978.
“She loved Trinidad and she even told me one time why did I not let her stay in this place,” Wendy Simpson told the Sunday Express yesterday.
The New York Daily News reported that at 1.20 a.m., the suspect, Bobby Vanderhall, arrived at a Hempstead, Long Island, house from where he had been recently evicted.
“He came to kill his mom, Lynn Reichenbach-Vanderhall and the sister, Melissa Vanderhall, because his mother had kicked him out of the house,” said the police.
