Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has questioned whether Christian Mouttet is banking on a favour from the Government with respect to negotiations for lands which he owns and which must be acquired by the State.
Persad-Bissessar yesterday called on Mouttet to reconsider his position and step down as sole investigator into the procurement process of the Cabo Star and the Ocean Flower II.
She noted another “critical matter” concerns the relocation of businesses on the Churchill-Roosevelt highway in the vicinity of the Kay Donna drive-in, as this area is to be cleared to facilitate the proposed intersection and flyover.
“Mr Mouttet must say whether his business (KFC, Pizza Hut) will be affected. If it is, then Mr Mouttet and his business will be in or may have already started a protracted negotiation with the Government over compensation for relocation,” she stated.
