In less than 24 hours, two police officers were injured in separate incidents in Maraval and Belmont.
According to reports, PC Smith, who is attached to the Police Administration in Port of Spain, was driving a marked police vehicle along the Lady Young Road, Belmont, when he was flagged down near Makai Lands, Belmont around 3.15 p.m. yesterday.
He was told people had been seen walking along the roadway just off the Lady Young Road with firearms in their hands.
PC Smith then drove his marked police vehicle up the incline when he heard several loud explosions.
