Long wait at port: problems with 'T&T Express'*

'Engine issue': The T&T Express.

Scarborough

HUNDREDS of angry passengers suffered more than 12 hours of waiting at the Scarborough Port yesterday after being told there were technical problems with the T&T Express vessel.
Passengers with vehicles arrived at the port at around 4 a.m. (others were there earlier) as the boat was scheduled to sail at 6.30 a.m.
Around 8 a.m., there was an announcement that there were “technical” problems with the boat. At 8.08 a.m., another announcement was made for “walk-ons” (those without vehicles) who had business in Port of Spain to disembark the vessel if they wished.
The ramp was lowered for their exit.
Problems on board
At 11.28 a.m., another announcement was made for all passengers, including those with vehicles, to disembark and get their tickets revalidated.
The boat eventually sailed from Scarborough at 5.15 p.m.
