FIVE days after he went missing on a hike to the Hollis Waterfall in Aripo, the body of Richard Baird was airlifted out of the forest on Wednesday.

Baird's body was found on Tuesday afternoon about 600 feet down a precipice.

It appeared he tumbled off the cliff during the hike last Saturday afternoon. No member of the hiking team of about 60 people saw him fall.

His body was removed shortly after 1p.m.

An autopsy may determine if he died from the fall or survived and died some time later.
