Friend or foe of the PNM, probe them*

PM on ‘fake oil’ scandal:

St Augustine

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley said last night his Government will not protect any corrupt person in this country, whether friend or foe.
He was speaking at the third instalment of Conversations with the Prime Minister, at the St Augustine Senior Comprehensive School.
The Prime Minister was asked by a member of the audience whether A&V Drilling should repay monies it was allegedly overpaid in the “fake oil” scandal and whether an investigation should be carried out.
“From what I’ve seen so far, the statements should be of concern to all citizens and certainly a thorough investigation is required,” he said.
He noted a new board was appointed to Petrotrin and he expects that this board will get “independent investigators” to thoroughly investigate that matter, and if there is any area of corruption or incompetence, the board would give direction to take action.
