WPC shot in ambush: suspect known to her*

A woman police officer is said to be nursing gunshot injuries following a shooting incident in Mamoral on Tuesday night.
WPC Crystal Ross Abraham, who is attached to the Woodbrook Police Station, was on her way home along Mamoral Road, after picking up her husband Andy Abraham. They were in a Toyota Hilux van, with WPC Abraham in the front passenger seat, when they observed a man known to them standing at the side of the street near some bushes.
Two loud explosions were then heard and WPC Abraham felt burning sensations to her left palm and right shoulder.
Andy Abraham immediately drove away from the scene and made his way to the Chaguanas District Hospital, where his wife was treated.
The injuries she sustained were not life-threatening.
She was treated at hospital and discharged.
