T&T men looking for place in ‘Worlds’*

...five places up for grabs in United States


TRINIDAD and Tobago’s men will be competing for a place in the World Volleyball Championships in the next two weeks in Colorado, USA.
Players from 12 countries will battle from September 26 until October 1 and the top five finishers will represent the NORCECA (North, Central America and the Caribbean) Confederation in the World Championships in Bulgaria and Italy next September.
T&T and Martinique advanced to the third and final stage of qualifying from the CAZOVA (Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Federation) region by occupying the first two places, respectively, in the Caribbean Championships in July.
St Vincent & Grenadines and Dominica qualified from the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association, while Guatemala and Dominican Republic advanced from the Central American Zone.
Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico and host country United States advanced automatically and the five qualifiers for “Worlds” are expected to come from this sextet.
