Sexual harassment claims just mischief *

President general of the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Trade Union (SWWTU), Michael Annisette, said yesterday that allegations of sexual harassment against him were acts of mischief from women who did not get work with the union's private company.

“We have testimony which says that you, Mr Annisette, have been a perpetrator of unwanted sexual advances by a number of females, how do you respond to that?” Minister in the Ministry of Education, Dr Lovell Francis, asked Annisette yesterday at the Joint Select Committee (JSC) Parliament sitting examining issues surrounding the procurement and maintenance of the inter-island ferries.

Annisette said these women also made these allegations to former Tobago House of Assembly (THA) chief secretary Orville London and he (London) offered his apology to Annisette after getting the facts.
