FOUR more people have been killed over a 24-hour period, pushing the murder toll to 357 for 2017, compared with 332 for the same period last year.
Four of the deceased men have been identified as 24-year-old James Julien, 49-year-old Anthony Thomas, 51-year-old Hasley Mark, and 52-year-old Kishore Ramadin.
A fifth man, who was not identified up to last night, was killed in an incident involving a police officer.
The bloodshed began just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday in Morvant – just a stone's throw away from the Morvant Police Station and Fire Station.
According to police reports, a group of men were liming near a mini-mart along Lady Young Avenue, off the Lady Young Road, when a silver Nissan AD Wagon was seen driving on the roadway.
The vehicle then came to a sudden stop and, without warning, the occupants of the vehicle opened fire in the direction of the mini-mart.
