Hanif Nizam Baksh, owner of A&V Drilling and Workover, was a no-show at the media tour of his business arranged by his own company yesterday.

The invitation to get a first-hand view of the company's operations in Penal was extended on Monday by Senior Counsel Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj in a release, which said the company and its CEO “extend an invitation to members of the media to see for themselves the operations of the company”.

In the same news release, A&V Oil apologised to the media for incidents of violence against media workers who were seeking information on the “fake oil” scandal near the company's compound.

Most media boycotted the tour yesterday. Present were the Express, Newsday and Vision on Mission head Wayne Chance, who is also a talk show host on i95.5FM.
