Three bracelet thieves taken down by cops


POLICE ARRESTED three men yesterday minutes after they stole two beeras (bracelets) from a 60-year-old woman in Aranguez.

Police said that around 4 p.m. the victim, Laldaye Jennings of Aranguez was standing along the Aranguez Main Road near to Sooknanan Trace when a man approached him, shoved her to the ground and then fled the scene in a waiting Nissan Almera.

She immediately reported the theft to the police and officers of the North Eastern Division Hot Spot team and NED Traffic Unit went into action and intercepted the car near Mangra Trace, Aranguez.

Officers searched the car and found both pieces of jewellery in the car's back seat.

One 22-year-old man from Don Miguel Road, San Juan, another from 22nd Street Beetham Gardens and a third man aged 19 from Carenage were detained and were assisting officers with their enquiries up to today.
