Mother of slain teen appeals to witness

Yucklan Sancaro yesterday made a plea to the woman involved in a domestic violence incident—which led to the murder of her teenage son David Sancaro--to come forward with the truth.
Yucklan Sancaro was tearful as she spoke to the media following the National Awards ceremony last night, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), in Port of Spain, where she received the Hummingbird Medal (Bronze), which her son was posthumously awarded for gallantry.
Asked if she had any words for her son's alleged killer, Sancaro said: “Come on, you so ignorant. You could have just gotten in your van and drove away. You had to kill somebody that night?”
In greeting her, Sancaro said President Anthony Carmona told her that young David's death had hurt the entire country.
She was hugged tight by the President as she received her hero son's medal.
