Four people have been arrested in connection with the burglary at the Cunupia businessplace of entertainer Nisha Bissambhar's business place.
The theft at the clothing boutique known as "The Dollhouse by Nisha B", occurred on Monday.
Bissambhar took to social media to express her disappointment at becoming another victim of crime in the country.
In a social media post, she said: "My birthday is tomorrow (October 18). Instead of preparing for my divali pooja and celebrations I'm trying to come to terms with some losers who broke into my store stealing most of my brand new stock and items. My pieces were unique items, some customized…I'm really shocked and sad but what can I do? I'm just another victim. Thank you to everyone for your concerns. Thank you to the Cunupia Police station for your swift response."
The Express was told that the locks of the front door was tampered with. An estimated $100,000 in valuables including shoes, clothing and bags were stolen.
CCTV footage of the incident was obtained and handed over to the police.
