Hundreds affected after heavy rains in South, Central and East Trinidad*

DIVALI Day celebrations were ruined for some when hundreds of homes were flooded in low-lying areas of Central and South Trinidad.
There were reports of flash flooding in several communities as a result of persistent torrential rainfall that began before daybreak yesterday and which left homes swamped.  It has now become an annual occurrence as the heavy rainfall left many confined to their homes on Divali Day.
