BPTT awards new drilling contract *


BP Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) has awarded a new contract and contract extension for two Rowan jackup rigs for drilling programmes offshore Trinidad and Tobago, international upstream publications reported yesterday.

Offshore Engineer reported the jackup rig, Rowan EXL II, has been awarded a one-year, five-well drilling programme scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2018. The rig is available until the start of this new contract. Another jackup rig, called the Joe Douglas, has received a one-year contract extension for a four-well drilling program, followed by an option to extend for one additional well.
