Trinidad and Tobago table tennis star Rheann Chung outlasted Chile's Daniela Ortega in a thriller to capture the French National 2 women's singles title, in Neuves Maisons, France, on Sunday.
For Chung, the hard-fought 11-5, 4-11, 11-6, 8-11, 5-11, 12-10, 12-10 victory was sweet revenge. At the 2016 Latin American Championships in Puerto Rico, Ortega had beaten Chung 3-2 in a group match.
“I knew the final would be 50/50,” Chung told the Express. “Even though she won the last time, I know that I always play a little better in Europe.”
