Use alternative routes.
This was the advice of Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) Corporate Communications Manager, Zola Joseph to the public as torrential showers over the last 48 hours caused flood waters to reach the compound of the Piarco International Airport.
She said, “We are experiencing flooding. The roadway west of the Golden Grove Road has been inundated. However, we do not have flooding at the Piarco Area Road.”
Joseph said, “At the moment, Golden Grove Road, when last I checked the flooding was not severe but it is advisable for persons to use alternative routes.”
A source at AATT said most of the employees left early today due to the inclement weather.
