Kelshall hailed as Air Guard pioneer*

THE life of retired Coast Guard Lt Commander Gaylord Kelshall was celebrated on Friday evening with a scene plucked from a medieval fairy tale, complete with castles, cannons, swords and shields.
Those who knew him well understood his eccentricities and appeared not to be surprised at the unusual send-off, which began at 6 p.m. at the Chaguaramas Military History and Aviation Museum, on Western Main Road in Chaguaramas, a museum Kelshall fought to build to honour Trinidad and Tobago’s military history.
