Man dies in crash

Newlywed Nicholas Sooknanan  has been identified as the man who died after his car crashed into a house in Moruga on Tuesday.

Sooknanan, 27, an offshore employee, lived at Teelucksingh Trace, Barrackpore.

At around 7.30 p.m. Sooknanan was driving a Honda Civic north along St Mary's Main Road.

Upon reaching the vicinity of Douglas Trace he skidded off the road and crashed into a house.

The house is owned by 79 year old Rosalba Johnson, police said. No one was at home.

A district medical officer pronounced Sooknanan dead at the scene.

An autopsy is to be performed at the Forensic Sciences Centre, Federation Park today.
