Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is to visit China next month to participate in a meeting with nine other world leaders.
Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young made the announcement at a post-cabinet press briefing on Thursday.
Young said the invitation was extended by the Chinese government who have decided to meet with 10 leaders from across the world.
Trinidad and Tobago was selected as the participant from this region, Young said, but added that he was not at liberty to disclose the other nine world leaders who will be present.
The first leg of the visit is to take place between November 30 to December 3, where Rowley will participate in high level meetings in Beijing, Young said.
Following this, will be a state visit where Rowley will tour other areas in China.
This is to take place from December 4 to 9. Rowley will be accompanied by his wife, Sharon Rowley, and a “very small delegation”, Young advised.
Young said the visit would aid the relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and China.
