Build it yourself: new Govt housing plan

With over 170,000 applicants in the Housing Development Corporation's (HDC) database and the corporation's inability to meet the growing demand for affordable housing, the Ministry of Housing has launched a new programme aimed at providing assistance for persons to build their own homes. The Government Aided Self-Help Housing Programme is expected to reduce the number of applicants seeking houses from the HDC.
