A MAN who robbed a soft drink truck and the owner of a parlour 31 years ago was yesterday sentenced for the crimes.
Eddy Williams, who fled the country for 20 years, was spared a jail term. The 61-year-old, of Rio Claro, was fined $4,500.
On October 28, 1986, Williams robbed a soft drink truck attendant who went to deliver five cases at a parlour.
As he went to the truck for the last case, the parlour owner noticed a man with a mask and a gun. The masked man snatched $100 from the parlour owner and took $369.60 from the attendant, the money he made for the day.
