Eighth wonder *

In a good final in which both sides producing exciting moments, W Connection defeated defending champions Defence Force 3-1 to capture an unprecedented eighth First Citizens Cup knockout football title on Friday night at the Ato Boldon stadium, Couva.  And the individual awards distributed afterwards reflected how the match itself went. Surinamese international winger Dimitrie Apai(W Connection) was named both Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final and joint top-scorer with veteran striker Devorn Jorsling, (Defence Force) who looked a revitalised soldier over 90 minutes, except for a crucial penalty miss.
