Artikal Entertainment will be hosting its annual Point Fortin Charity Cook-Off at Mahaica Courts, Point Fortin, on Saturday.

Titled the Point Fortin Pork Parang Lime, this year's event, which starts at 3.00 p.m. will be hosted in collaboration with the Point Fortin Borough Corporation.

The annual event is a family oriented event which has as its main attraction a cook-off competition among registered groups from in and around the borough of Point Fortin.

Music, entertainment, mouth-watering local dishes, drinks, as well as a myriad of games and attractions for children will be widely available on the day.

Held primarily for the purpose of contribution to a charitable cause, each team, upon registration, will be asked to submit an individual or organization eligible for the charity donation. When the winner is declared, Artikal Entertainment and the Borough Corporation will present part proceeds of the event to the individual or organization.

Khari Denoon, Artikal's chief executive officer, said: "Our Tailgate Cook-off event is fast becoming a leading charity event on the Artikal Entertainment calendar. When we first launched the cook-off in 2015, we donated monies to the Autistic Society of Trinidad and Tobago, while in 2016, we were able to assist a Point Fortin resident who was left paralyzed following a vehicular accident.

“This year we are pleased to have the support of Point Fortin mayor Abdon Mason and the hardworking team of the Point Fortin Borough Corporation. Having the mayor on board has certainly raised the profile of our event, particularly since the mayor has always demonstrated a commitment to youth enhancement and community development.“

Entertainment will be provided by Kenny J and Point Fortin Parang Band, Sancouche. There will also be live performances by the Point Fortin Anglican Primary School, Point Fortin Primary Schools Parang Champions.
