A different narrative*


AT the end of October, The UWI awarded an honorary degree to Clem Seecharan, an eminent Guyana-born, UK-based historian.
He has written extensively on the history of West Indian and Guyanese cricket, and published an award-winning biography of Jock Campbell, the reforming chairman of Booker, the British firm which owned so many sugar estates in Guyana that it was often called “Booker’s (not British) Guiana”.
