high and dry: The nocturnal oilbird colonises the deep recesses of land and sea caves.

Venturing into a sea cave that is prone to flooding at high tide always has its risks especially when the passage to its site is subject to surges of high water no matter the tide. We had tried to time the tides for weeks during the July/August period when flatter seas are usual but this year, because of higher than normal sea levels, our attempt had to be postponed.
