Ema to manage waste recovery. The EMA is already bogged down with work. It has neither the capacity nor time to manage waste. Far and wide throughout the Republic, you will find victims of EMA’s neglect; hundreds of persons appealing for environmental health justice without relief. The last government led the EMA into this wasteful proposal. The EMA cannot manage plastic waste recovery. Even if it were able to string up a management team to handle plastic waste recovery in the north-west peninsula, it cannot sustain a national project for waste recovery. Managing waste seriously and efficiently is an arduous, time-consuming and pivotal economic endeavour. It is large and transformative. It is not an environmental thingy, an appendage to ecological protection.
