The Government is in serious trouble and it has no idea what to do. But this statement ought not to be a cause of jubilation or laughter. The fact is that the Government’s woes are ultimately the country’s woes and the fact that the Government is apparently caught in a paralysis of ignorance and incompetence only makes it more certain that we shall not be able to avoid the coming cataclysm.
It is not difficult to document the signs of the government’s troubles. The government can certainly sense these troubles but, given their blinkered view of political reality, cannot comprehend their nature.
