A Palmiste man was arrested and a quantity of marijuana seized by officers of the Special Branch South, during an anti-crime exercise on Monday afternoon.

Officers say they executed a search warrant at the Palm Villas, Block 1, home of a 26-year-old man.

Police allegedly found 24.1 kilogrammes of marijuana in 45 sealed packets and hidden inside two crocus bags and one purple handbag. The drug has an estimated street value of $241,000.

The suspect arrested and expected to be charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
