To Zumba or not to Zumba?*

Of all the modern trends in exercise and fitness programmes, the Zumba workout programme is one that has grown in popularity as a fun, group cardio workout.
Zumba has a distinctive appeal for exercisers – it is a fun fusion of dance moves from Latin styles like salsa and meringue and now includes soca music as well. It allows room for interpretation by the exerciser, it is non-judgemental and the person is free to move as he or she likes, responding to the music. It is sometimes termed a “fitness party” or “exercise in disguise”.
